Commitment to providing all of our Students and Families with Safe, Caring and Inclusive Learning Environments
Dear Elementary Parents:
I want to reaffirm our commitment to providing all of our students and families with safe, caring and inclusive learning environments, free from bullying, intimidation and harassment. Recently in the news you may have heard that some districts are seeing an increase in some of the negative behaviors described above. I am pleased to report that we have not experienced any of this behavior in our schools but I wanted to take this opportunity to say that in St Paul we do not tolerate any form of discrimination and will respond to any concern raised regarding this type of activity in our district. Our School Board supports their adopted Board Policy (AC) on non-discrimination. It is our mission in St Paul to provide a progressive learning environment for all students to achieve by the objectives and principles outlined in the St. Paul Brand. We will serve all students and families, regardless of citizenship status. Federal courts have upheld the expectation for all public schools to serve all children, regardless of citizenship status while enrolled in the public school system. In St Paul we recognize the value and worth of each and everyone of our students and consider diversity an asset to our district.
Sincerely, Mr. Wehrli
