Nick Schneider graduated from St. Paul High School in 1977, where he played sports all four years. For the past 40 years he has supported the school with projects that have benefited the whole community. He painted the hallways in the grade school, replaced backboards, and built carnival games when his kids were there. He was an active member of the booster club for over 10 years, most of that time as president. He was also one of the chairmen when the booster club annual fundraiser expended to include the concessions under the rodeo arena. Nick was involved in repairing, cleaning, and painting booths each year; as well as purchasing the current booster trailer and refurbishing it for the needs of the club.
With funds raised, and the help of many volunteers, he spearheaded many projects beginning with the removal of the old cinder track and the installation of a new state-of-the-art rubber track. His next project for the school was removal and replacement of the 50-year-old orginial gym floor. Nick quietly took it upon himself to maintain these projects; patching the track as needed, refinishing the gym floor, repainting the center court logo and lines, as well as painting the entire gym twice. He found water lines, ran computer and phone wires; all along finding may other ways that he could be of service. Nick was a member of the St. Paul School Board for 11 years and president for 2. He was on the construction committee for the high school renovation. He is currently on the budget committee and was on the bond committee for the construction of the new gym and grade school renovation. Most of the projects would not have been possible without Nick's leadership and the help of countless volunteers.
