Melissa Reed

The 2018-2019 school year marks my 10th year teaching. I have been part of the St. Paul family since 2014. Prior to working at St. Paul I taught Freshman English for two years and worked in Special Education in various districts for four years. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication from Western Oregon Univeristy in 2004, my Master of Arts in Teaching from George Fox University in 2008, and my Special Education endorsement from Willamette University in 2013. I lived in Japan for a year teaching English to students ranging from age 3 to 90.

My hobbies include hunting, camping, competitive trap shooting, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I met my husband, Chris, in 2012. We were married in 2015 and have one daughter and will be welcoming another baby in 2019.

I am proud to be a 6th (maternal grandmother) & 7th (maternal grandfather) generation descendent of some of the first pioneers to settle in Oregon (Tillamook & Sand Ridge). My family lineage can be traced back to the Roberts and Billintons who traveled to America on the Mayflower. My family makes a point to continue passing down stories of our ancestors and has done extensive research to find out as much as we can. Most of my family still lives in Linn County where my great-grandparents settled; many properties and sites have been passed down through the generations and we still enjoy them today for family gatherings.
