About our Principal

Hello, my name is Patrick Schrader and I am the Principal of St. Paul Middle/High School. I am a 5th generation Oregonian and my family originally settled in the Newberg/Springbrook area in 1850. I was born in Portland and later moved to Salem. After graduating from Sprague High School, I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University. I initially worked in forestry and outdoor recreation for the Oregon Department of Forestry and the City of McMinnville before returning to earn my Master’s degree from Western Oregon University. I taught social studies and biology at Perrydale High School for 9 years before transitioning to school administration. Previous to St. Paul, I was an Assistant Principal at McKay High School in Salem.

My wife, Elizabeth, and I have three adult children. We enjoy camping, white water rafting, and traveling. In the next couple of years we plan on moving to our family tree farm outside of Newberg where we manage 105 acres of timber.

I feel very fortunate to be a part of the St. Paul community. St. Paul schools have a great tradition of excellence in education and I look forward to continuing this tradition and building upon it. I am humbled and honored that you have entrusted us with your student.
