Dear St Paul Community

December 16, 2019

Dear St Paul Community

The 2019-2020 is off to a great start, as we approach the winter break I would like to wish all of you a happy holiday season and send my hopes for you to have a prosperous new year. Your St Paul schools are doing well. Again, this year our students have excelled academically as well as in activities and athletics. As indicated by the Oregon State school report cards our students exceed the state averages in most areas of academics and our athletic programs and intra-curricular programs such as FFA and DECA have seen our students rise to state level completion in many areas. On December 10, 2019, the Portland Business Journal released its overall rankings of all school districts in the state and ranked St Paul as the 8th best district in the state based on student performance, attendance graduation rate and participation in athletics and activities. This is a great affirmation of what we in St Paul already know, our students, staff, and community are exceptional when it comes to supporting schools and student success.

On a more personal note, I would like to again thank all of you for your support as I continue my recovery from my motor vehicle accident in November. I am following the doctor’s orders and have already made great progress toward a full recovery. I was released from the hospital on December 15 and will continue outpatient rehabilitation for the next few weeks. Thank you again for all your support of our schools, staff, and programs.
