St. Paul School District is participating in a local assessment option in Mathematics that has been piloted in districts around the state of Oregon. More information about the assessment can be found at www.smciap.com. The purpose of the assessment is to allow students to demonstrate proficiency in the mathematics essential skill. The scoring methodology can be found in the full pilot report at http://www.mathessentialskills.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Data-for-Piloted-LAOM.pdf. Scores will be available for students within one week of finishing the computer-based assessment. If the student scores a minimum of 182.5 on the assessment, they will have met their math essential skill in Oregon. All students will have access to this assessment during their Geometry and Algebra 2 courses.
