1. No person on school property shall:
a. Injure or threaten to injure another;
b. Damage the property of another or of the district;
c. Violate any provision of the law;
d. Conduct himself/herself in such manner as to impede, delay or otherwise interfere with the orderly conduct of the educational program of the district or any other activity taking place on district property which has been authorized by the Board, superintendent, building principal or other authorized district staff member;
e. Bring, possess, conceal or use a weapon as prohibited by Board policy JFCJ - Weapons in the Schools and state and federal law;
f. Possess, consume, sell, give or deliver unlawful drugs and/or alcoholic beverages. Possess, sell, give or deliver drug paraphernalia;
g. Smoke or use tobacco products in other than a designated smoking area;
h. Wear, possess, use, distribute, display or sell any clothing, jewelry, emblem, badge, symbol, sign or other things which are evidence of membership or affiliation in any gang. Use speech or commit any act or omission in furtherance of the interests of any gang or gang activity. A “gang” is defined as a group that identifies itself through the use of a name, unique appearance or language including hand signs, claiming of geographical territory or the espousing of a distinctive belief system that frequently results in criminal activity;
i. Enter upon any portion of district premises at any time for purposes other than those which are lawful and/or authorized by the Board;
j. Willfully violate other rules and regulations adopted by the Board and properly publicized, designed to maintain public order on district property.
Unauthorized motor vehicles shall not be driven or parked except on regularly designated driving or parking lot areas on any district grounds within the district. The district will cooperate with the appropriate law enforcement personnel in enforcement of this policy.
Horses are not allowed on school property at any time except for the staging of the Fourth of July parade.
2. Violators shall be dealt with as follows:
a. Students shall be subject to discipline including suspension and expulsion pursuant to the provisions of the law, Board policy or appropriate penalties as may be determined;
b. Staff members will be subject to discipline to include reprimand, suspension or dismissal;
c. Any other person on district property may be requested by the appropriate administrator to register at the proper office stating name, address and purpose or business on district property. Any such person having no legitimate purpose or business on district property or violating or threatening to violate the above rules relating to the maintenance of public order shall be directed to leave the premises.
The superintendent will be responsible for enforcement of this policy, and he/she may designate other staff to take enforcement action.
In any case where violations of this policy and implementing rules and regulations do not cease after an administrative request and in other cases of willful violation of such directives, the superintendent or designee may request necessary assistance from public law enforcement officials and/or the courts.
