Important Update on St. Paul District Operations April 1, 2024 Dear St. Paul Community, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some very positive news regarding the sale of the bonds approved by the voters in St. Paul. The district received a top AA rating for the sale of the bonds which made our offer highly attractive to investors. The Bond rating was achieved through the recognition of our district as a fiscally responsible, community-supported entity and a stable organization. The sale of the $3 million dollar bond offering had multiple offers and a bond premium of $381,000 dollars was achieved through competitive bidding. In addition, the district received a $3 million dollar matching grant. The positive outcome of the sale allowed us to finance the bond on a 13-year amortized schedule instead of the scheduled 20 years which will save an additional $455,000 in interest payments. This is outstanding news for our community and will help to support the projects planned in the upcoming years. Special thanks to our administration, our school board, and Mr. Crawford for all their hard work. I would also like to send a special thank you to our community for supporting the mission and vision of our district through the support of this venture. We held our first project management meeting on March 18th and I look forward to sharing updates with you regarding the process as we move forward in the planning and construction phases. We will begin planning for kitchen renovations and looking at options for our CTE facility in the coming weeks. Thank You to our elementary PTC! The new playground is being installed at the elementary school. The playground will be closed during construction and the reopening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held in the coming weeks. Special thanks to Angie Craig for spearheading this project and also to our wonderful community and school board for all of their hard work and support of this project. Sincerely, Joseph M. Wehrli St. Paul School District Superintendent/Elementary Principal

Out with the old, and in with the NEW! The time has come! Construction on our new playground will start during Spring Break!! We estimate the total timeline to be no more than three weeks, so we should be done before April 12th. The students will use the soccer field, and/or the track area for recess during construction. IMPORTANT!! We have set up fencing and barricaded areas that are unsafe, so please steer clear of those areas during construction. There will be clear paths to use to get to the softball/baseball fields and the batting cages, but the playground area will be inaccessible during construction. I will send updates as the project progresses, and please watch for information about a ribbon cutting ceremony to formally present it to our wonderful students! This will most likely take place before school on the first day after construction is complete. We also plan to have a community presentation at our Taco/Bingo night on April 20th at 5pm! Hope to see you all there!

Only ONE WEEK left to purchase a high school yearbook! We need to let Jostens know how many copies we are ordering very soon. If you want a 2023-2024 high school yearbook, please make sure to purchase one before spring break, or we will not include you in our final number to Jostens. All students who had not yet purchased a book received a reminder slip a few weeks ago. Please reach out to Ms. Frey at jamie.frey@stpaul.k12.or.us if you have any questions. Yearbooks can be purchased in the high school office or online here for $40: https://or-stpaul.intouchreceipting.com/
